Photographic material

All the works in the Accademia Carrara collection are protected by copyright, of which the Fondazione Accademia Carrara is the owner.
The low-resolution images published in the Museum’s online catalogue (available at the following link…) can be downloaded free of charge and used for personal purposes that do not involve publication.
Requests for high-resolution images and permission for their publication must be sent to the Museum, providing information about the intended use and purpose.

Photography and/or filming

Photography and/or filming of the Accademia Carrara and the works it contains may be made by filling in the special request form for permission and submitting it to the Museum.

Copies

Professional and amateur copyists, and art school students can make copies from life of the works of art in the Accademia Carrara, during Museum opening hours, free of charge, subject to approval of their request submitted on a special application form.

Conditions of realisation
  • Paragraph 1 of Article 107 of Legislative Decree 42/2004 expressly provides that assets may be made available for reproduction in compliance with copyright (of the author of the assets).
  • The date, time and duration of the Applicant's stay in the exhibition for the copy must be agreed with the Museum at least two weeks in advance.
  • Only the copying of paintings exhibited in the rooms is permitted and the works may not be moved under any circumstances.
  • Copies of works of art may only be made during the museum's public opening hours. A complimentary admission ticket to the Museum will be issued to the Applicant.
  • Those who benefit from this authorisation are obliged to comply with the regulations in force and the specific regulations laid down by the host museum, especially those relating to working days and hours, the protection of works to be copied, the order to be kept and any reproduction rights.
  • The Service reserves the right to identify the methods and times compatible with the need to guarantee full accessibility of the museum spaces to the visiting public, and to safeguard the decorum and integrity of the environments and the historical and artistic heritage preserved therein.
  • The Museum assumes no liability whatsoever in the event of any damage or default on the part of the party responsible. In the event of publication or sale of copies of the works, the Applicant undertakes to send a request to the Fondazione Accademia Carrara for the acquisition of the reproduction rights of the works of art that are the subject of the copy, by filling in the appropriate request form.
