Trainees in the Museum
The Fondazione Accademia Carrara’s Tirocinanti in Museo training project allows university students and recent graduates to experience museum life and enrich their experience.
The aim is to provide interns with a comprehensive view of the functioning of the museum institution, through a transversal participation in its activities, management and development.
After a common initial training course, curricular and extra-curricular interns collaborate in the functions dedicated to welcoming the public and supporting the visit to the museum; they also work alongside the different operational areas of the structure: Conservation and Loan Office – Educational Services – Development, Events and Communication.
One of the projects developed with the Carrara interns is Close Up/Vista da Vicino: a daily appointment that presents a work from the collection to visitors free of charge, in Italian and English.

I Volunteer in my Museum
Accademia Carrara proposes the project I volunteer in my museum, dedicated to those who love art, their city and the surrounding area and who want to actively spend their time in an exceptional place, the museum of Italian collecting.
Volunteers’ role: welcoming visitors and enhancing the cultural heritage with the aim of making the art gallery a lively, dynamic place for the public.
Professionalism, experience and helpfulness characterise the museum’s team of operators who guarantee adequate training and constant support of all volunteers with regard to the various activities planned.
No particular expertise is required, but seriousness and enthusiasm.
