Accademia Carrara in Bergamo places great importance on its visitors, providing a variety of services to help everyone make the most of the museum and its exhibitions.

WI-FI
Free Wi-Fi is available for all visitors at Accademia Carrara.
CLOACKROOM
A free cloakroom is available for visitors, with lockers equipped with keys where bags and backpacks can be safely stored during your visit. Visitors are required to leave luggage, packages, helmets, umbrellas, backpacks, and bags exceeding 35 x 30 x 10 cm in the cloakroom.
RESTROOM AND BABY CHANGING STATION
Restrooms are available on both the ground floor and the second floor of the museum. They are fully accessible to visitors with disabilities and equipped with baby changing station.
ELEVATORS AND WEELCHAIRS
The museum provides two courtesy wheelchairs for visitor use. Exhibition rooms on the first and second floors are accessible via two elevators, located next to the main staircases.
AUDIOGUIDE
Visitors to the Accademia Carrara are guided through the gallery by the voice of Linus, Creative Director of Radio Deejay!
The scripts were written by Paola Rampoldi, curator of the Museum of Peoples and Cultures in Milan, and Lucia Cecio, Head of Educational Services at the Carrara. The audio guide is divided into 16 tracks, organized by chronological, geographical, thematic, and stylistic criteria.
Audioguides are available at the ticket office, in both Italian and English.
MUSEUM ESCAPE
Accademia Carrara offers visitors the chance to play the exciting Museum Escape game, “The Carrara Legacy,” developed by the young start-up Garipalli. This interactive experience invites you to uncover the secrets and hidden stories behind paintings, sculptures, and other works of art.
FOR SCHOLARS
HISTORICAL ARCHIVE
Accademia Carrara offers open access to researchers and historians wishing to consult the two main collections that make up the Museum’s Historical Archive:
- Giacomo Carrara Archive – includes personal papers, family documents, and correspondence dating up to around 1796.
- Commissariat Archive – holds records from the Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Gallery, spanning roughly from 1800 to 1960.

LIBRARY
The Library of Accademia Carrara and GAMeC is specialized in the preservation of texts on art history. The library’s holdings the development of Italian painting and visual arts from their origins to the present day, with a rich collection of artist monographs, museum and exhibition catalogues, and art journals.

- 3 reading rooms, 15 reading stations, and 1 computer for online bibliographic research
- Document delivery service
- Photocopies and photographs for study, research, teaching activities (subject to authorization)
- Online catalogue access via OPAC

SCAGLIA LIBRARY
Accademia Carrara offers open access to the Scaglia Library, a collection of around 2,000 volumes—including rare books, artist monographs, and auction catalogues—available for consultation by researchers and scholars. The library is housed in a dedicated space on the first floor of the Museum.

BOOKSHOP
Accademia Carrara houses a bookshop—managed by Skira Editore—that offers visitors a carefully curated selection of publications and merchandise related to the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. The bookshop also features a unique and constantly evolving range of items, including accessories, children’s books, and gifts, inspired by the different themes of the current exhibition.
The bookshop is accessible to everyone without a museum ticket during regular opening hours.
BISTROT
The renovation of the building, once used as the museum’s tool storage, has allowed the Accademia Carrara to open a bistrot accessible to all: Bù Bistrot in Carrara, which also has a separate entrance from Via della Noca.Nestled within the greenery of the “i Giardini PwC”, Bù Bistrot in Carrara brings together food, art, local culture, and hospitality. Here, gastronomy becomes a way to celebrate the local identity and territory through a creative and free interpretation of its ingredients.
